The Lost Art of Support - Found at PolyPay
Written by Jamie Barlett
The ability to communicate both in a written and spoken manner is a lost art. In this day and age expediency reigns over elaboration. When it comes to working on something as important as processing payments for your business, it is imperative that your provider takes the time to walk you through all the costs, structure and method of taking your payments.
Ryan Hakes embodies all of the good qualities of someone who understands how important owning a business is and the need for support in a variety of ways. He grew up in Huntington Beach, California where he worked for his father who owned his own landscaping business. He was involved in the day-to-day operations, interacting with customers, behind-the-scenes office work and providing support wherever he could.
Ryan has been with PolyPay over four years now, where he joined us as a recent graduate of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a Business Marketing degree. Ryan was an exceptional find from the beginning. When he was initially interviewed by one of our team members, instead of the usual thirty-minute interview, it went on for over an hour and a half. His ability to communicate in a thoughtful manner in the interview turned into his first role with PolyPay as a part of the Customer Success team.
Each year Ryan has continued to build on his knowledge base of the processing industry, manage our customers and handle each of their needs with professionalism, honesty and integrity. His ability to deliver solutions to customer issues has led to customers calling him directly, bypassing our support team through our processing partners. I have even experienced the “Hakes pass” as I like to call it. For example, I have introduced myself to customers on a regular basis, thanking them for their business. Sometimes I am met with confusion by a customer and then a fearful face followed by “Ryan is still with PolyPay, right???” I founded the company, but when people respond so deeply to one of our team members, I am heartened in the fact that we hired someone truly exceptional.
Ryan’s current role with us is as our Director of Solutions. When you need someone to value your business as much as you do, call PolyPay today and speak with Ryan. You will immediately know that you and your business are being cared for in every aspect.
